Mom and Dad, below is the report on our progress that you requested. We have completed all missions set out for us by the city. Each mission will be described in detail to the extent that I know, for I was unable to attend all of them. Oftentimes we will split and do two missions at once, or some of us have other business to attend to in the city. Taluses blocking the road: I was not present while this task was completed, however as I understand it taluses are creatures that look like boulders. These were sunning themselves on the road, and my party members moved most of them off and killed a few of them. Bugs infesting caves: The hardest part of this mission was the darkness. Torches help, however the cave ceilings are higher than the light can reach. We could hear insects above us, but had no way to see them. By the time we could, we were often surrounded. Some of them are also poisonous, a fact that should be kept in mind when fighting them. We did encounter a few problems regarding this point, however the mission was completed with minimal damage to us. Troglodytes in travel tunnels: When Troglodytes are wounded, they release a cloud of noxious gas that causes everyone around them to fall unconscious. I believe ranged weapons are the solution to this problem and I hope we can implement the use of them if we ever run into these creatures again. As I understand it, one of our party members got dragged into the tunnels, however he was with the others who went out when we met back up to discuss our next mission, so I do not know what happened. Gathering items for the God Houses: This was a simple shopping trip. We picked up various items that were asked of us, and talked to people in the market. I do not believe the specific items we were asked for are important, however we did hear that people have been feeding sky beasts, which is inadvisable. Keeping watch for workers excavating ruins: We do not know for sure what the ruins are of yet, however we hope to check back in next time we go out. As you know, ruins are part of what the gods would have us looking into, and I hope these will help us understand what it is that they want us to discover. This mission was not hard, however my party is not well trained in working together. Though we had torches, they were not spread effectively and communication between groups was lacking. Despite these challenges, we protected and made friends with the workers. Taking a shift at the north watch tower: As I understand it many of the soldiers were partying and were hung over so we covered the shift to insure the continued safety of the city. We received messages from the messenger griffins, let travelers and traders into the city, and sent soldiers to deal with possible threats. The one thing worth bearing in mind is there was a large black shape that disappeared behind a mountain. We do not know what this was, and intend to investigate it next time we go out. The party I’m working with is lovely, and although they have need of training in some regards I believe we will be able to work effectively together. I hope you all are doing well.
