Thesis: Today was actually pretty good. 5 gold can buy you way more than it says on the tin. I was out applying for jobs, a few places, not really expecting much, just an every day job search. Just the usuals like Seaside Shipping Solutions, Calmwater Accounting Services, Sailors Savings and Loans, and Maritime Money Menders, and a real stretch was Mystic Harbor Investments. but eitherway, I wasnt expecting much. This was the 26th of 9th moon. Anyways. I went to go get some food afterwards as i usually do to reduce my stress and holy shit! I just found a 5 gold piece on the ground, like who the fuck leaves that around. Anyways. I went to look around but didn’t look like anyone needed it or had lost it. But I had time to kill and honestly I wanted a little bit of time away from people, Im getting more nervous around Leilani as of recent, don’t want her to get hurt by me or to be fucking real, I don’t want her worrying about me. Anyways. I went to look around but its not like i can just ask people “Hey is this your 5 gold piece?” like anyone and their mother would snatch that amount up, well maybe not Gouda cause he throws it around like crazy. 2 gold for a fucking fish? Come on dude, we know you are high dining but thats crazy, no wonder no one went… i did but shut up. Anyways. I went to the local Judicials and asked them to keep an eye out but they kinda looked at me like i was stupid. “Just keep it and if someone asks then we will tell you that we found someone.” like hell they would. Anyways. So i went to a park and started looking around, i was losing confidence but i was feeling lucky so i went to a fountain and i saw a person there, went to go check on them, looked like Leilani having her freak out but wasnt her obviously. I heard her mention something about trying to make rent so i thought this might have been my culprit. So i went up and said. “Hey is this your 5 gold piece? I found it on the ground and didnt see who dropped it.” and holy shit that smile. She lit up like 1000 gold and was very happy. She said her name was Ariane and we chatted for a bit, she seemed really nice and was so relieved to hear someone had gotten her gold, for me thats a month pay so its pretty good to find that. I offered to walk her home and she agreed after making an excuse about needing to make lunch and dinner, she invited me and i accepted. So i walked her home. So! When we got to her apartment it was nice, swanky but not like gilted with gold, just nice enough where you know she did it herself and all the decorations were things she cared about not just random gifts and high end merchants, i saw a few paintings from a street artist, some beads and gems hung up, very nice. She talked to me about how she was stressed about getting work and food done and i related, i offered to cook her food and she smiled and wanted to accept but refused, i offered to help with her paperwork which was piled up on a desk and she obliged to have me help with that while she gets to work with food. I went over and checked… HOLY SHIT SHE WAS THE RECRUITER FOR MYSTIC HARBOR INVESTMENTS, LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. I told her that i had funny enough applied for this job so ill give my imput on some of the people but i couldnt give input on myself. She smiled at my honesty cause i could have just accepted myself, but she obliged she would check it out later. Anyways. I explored her kitchen with a bit of guidance and began to make some soup and grilled cheese, cant go wrong with that, and when she smelled it oh boy did she look ready. We chatted and talked the whole night and next morning, It was a successful and not shitty day in the slightest. So hey, if you find 5 gold on the ground, maybe keeping it is the worse option.
