Back at it again, the adventuring I mean. A moon later and things seem kind of worse. A captain of the guard confirmed more stuff is happening at boundaries, but isn't that kind of always the case? Is now really any different? Anyway, gangs are moving in, undead are moving along the road, even the kids are still fighting, just in more places... First mission was to go check out the market at the river between old and new city. The most interesting part to me was actually on the way. We stopped by a cute little garden in the city. The person working there was a little evasive about who exactly received the harvest, but did mention it's been an exceptional crop this year due to the summer running long and staying warm into the autumn. They also mentioned digging up a lot of stones but always finding more. Almost like the stones were "growing"... Strider picked a couple up and it was pretty obvious they're not from the city. Probably from the swamp. A bunch of gnomes showed up being a nuisance... And then at the market... Builders working on repairing the bridge. Two people, likely fae lords in disguise, fighting with little flashes of pink or blue magic. I did catch the one using blue and ask what they had seen here. They said three things: cracks and things growing from or slipping through them, things walking in shadow unseen by those who think they're watching, and "presumptuousness." I heard back in the inn that pink was spring, blue was winter, and pink won. The next mission I stayed behind to study. Earlier a guy made an offhand comment about the age of the world and assumed knowledge I didn't have. I wish I'd gotten a better education early, there's still so much I miss... The others went on a spree breaking up nefarious children in parks. Partly successful but it seems that the kids still lack a lot of support. Oh, the other inn keeper also mentioned good tomatoes due to the long summer. Curious. Next mission was the sewers! On the way we passed through some park with odd statues, but I didn't even care, I just wanted to get underground. We were there to protect some mages as they sanctified a section. Really for the best, undead aren't right for the ecosystem. Bodies need to go back into the cycle... It was so nice down there. Warm and *alive* in a way the city isn't. I got distracted admiring it until the creatures showed up. Mud crabs and a huge frog kind of thing. Watching their behavior was interesting. We did have to kill a bunch of them just to keep the ritual going... Not my favorite, but I think it's for the best... And we did it... Sewers sanctified. I did drop a few times, but I got brought back. The others went for escorting Tree of Life followers, but more studying for me. I'll hear about it in the morning tomorrow.
